On the evening of March 13th the members at Autobahn were blessed with an exquisite pairing of wine and food brought to them by Karl Wente and the culinary expertise of the Autobahn team. As usual, this was a night to remember.

The new Ferrari California will satisfy even the most demanding of owners in term of its superb vehicle dynamics and driving pleasure. The new model will be available exclusively as a convertible with a folding hard top. Both chassis and bodywork are aluminium, in line with the rest of the current range. The California will be powered by a new V8 engine mounted for the first time in the marque’s history in the mid-front
position.

The Ferrari California is aimed at owners who desire a car which embodies everything the Prancing Horse represents in terms of sporty design and innovation, but also seek a
car with greater versatility than ever.

The addition of side skirts and a rear spoiler, along with a new wheel design, is perhaps the element that most visually distinguishes the Maserati GranTurismo S.

But the main technical innovation for the Maserati GranTurismo S is found under the hood. Here lies the most advanced example of Maserati’s new range of wet sump engines. This new and more powerful 4.7 liter, V8 unit can generate 323 kW (433 HP) at 7,000 rpm, producing a maximum torque of 361 lb ft of torque Nm at 4,750 rpm.

In one of the most dramatic climaxes to a Formula One season, a gripping Brazilian Grand Prix saw rank outsider Kimi Raikkonen burst through to snatch the world championship on a day when favourite Lewis Hamilton’s hopes were eroded right from the start.

Ferrari’s Felipe Massa made a great start from pole position and defended himself against Hamilton’s McLaren on the rush to the first corner, as team mate Kimi Raikkonen squeezed alongside and then ahead of the Englishman in the famed Senna S.
