Importer Carl Haas is the reason behind this car you see here. Lola’s T220, specifically chassis number SL220/02. This L&M sponsored car put up a mighty fight with the dominant McLarens during the later part of the 1970 Can Am season, but ultimately would finish the championship in 8th place. Why in the later part of the season? That’s because Revson wrote off its predecessor, SL220/01 at Road Atlanta. Still, to have a name like Peter Revson at the wheel, this car has an aura of prestige other Can-Am cars could only dream to touch.
Powered by a 494 cubic inch Chevrolet V8, this light-weight aluminum monocoque chassis race car always had incredible pace. After all, Revson snagged a few podiums with it in 1970. But on the historic racing circuit, it has accrued wins at Road Atlanta, Limerock, Dallas GP, Road America, Miami, and Monterey .
